The Feast of Mary, the Mother of God

"Just as an artist is honored by the appreciation others give his greatest work of art, so the Father is glorified by our acknowledgement of His work in Mary—Mary is His masterpiece. Her mission is not to get us to look at her, but to look with her to her Son and His Father.”(Kimberly Hahn)

Father Jeff talked about looking at this feast from another point of view. We are not just celebrating the role that Mary played in giving birth to our savior

New Year---New Chance

OK-2 posts in 2006 and 1 in 2007. It won't take a lot to beat that huh?

No resolutions again this year. I am focusing EVERY day on reaching the goals that I set for myself. Today was a total day off so tomorrow, after getting my budgets done I will look at what I want to accomplish this year. I also would like to have Hannah and Zach do that for school. It is time to teach them some good habits, and being able to evaluate your life is a good skill to have.

The family made our annual post-Christmas trip to Indiana. Only 10 hours away, yet light years in difference. Being there makes me sad. Sad because I miss my parents. Sad because there is not a lot of life in that town. Sad because we end up sitting around too much, watching too much t.v. Again I found myself grateful that we moved from there.

I finished my first book of the new year. "The Bourne Legacy" by Eric Van Lustbader. The author was chosen by Robert Ludlum's Estate to continue the Jason Bourne stories. I have enjoyed all the movies and sped through this book also. I am going to hunt down the first books and read them also. The book was a natural step from the Baldacci books that I have been reading. They all have to do with governmanet agencies, undercover espionage and international politics. Not usually what I would chose. I does make me realize how little I know about global issues.

With no Mass this Wednesday, I am hoping to get a little more accomplished, finish cleaning the freezer and finish my application are the two must do's.
